Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit getmeatmate.com, buy from us or contact us, why, and what rights you have.

Who is responsible

Swift Commerce Sweden AB (organisation number 559456-0731), Vargagårdsvägen 57, 434 61 Kungsbacka, Sweden, is the controller of your personal data. Questions about your data: support@getmeatmate.com.

We do not make decisions about you that are based only on automated processing.

Who we share it with

We use trusted providers who process data for us under data processing agreements:

  • Shopify runs our online shop and checkout.
  • Payment providers shown at checkout handle your payment.
  • Our warehouse partner and the carriers pack and deliver your order and may text or email you about the delivery.
  • Klaviyo sends our order and marketing emails.
  • Judge.me asks for and publishes product reviews.
  • Consentmo shows the cookie banner and handles privacy requests.
  • Google hosts our email, including support@getmeatmate.com.
  • Anthropic provides the AI tool that helps us draft answers to customer emails. A person reads and sends every answer.
  • Fortnox keeps our accounts.
  • Microsoft (Clarity) and Meta receive browsing data only if you accept analytics or marketing cookies.

We also share data when the law requires it, for example with the Swedish Tax Agency.

Transfers outside the EU

Some of these providers are based in, or store data in, the United States. Where they do, the transfer is covered by the Data Privacy Framework between the EU and the US or by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

  • Order and accounting records: 7 years after the end of the financial year, as Swedish accounting law requires.
  • Customer service emails and complaints: up to 3 years after the case is closed, which is how long you can claim for a faulty product.
  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
  • Reviews: as long as they are published, or until you ask us to remove them.
  • Cookie data: as set out in the cookie banner, at most 13 months.

Cookies

The site uses cookies and similar technology. Some are needed for the shop to work, such as the cart and checkout. Others measure how the site is used (analytics, including Microsoft Clarity, which records anonymised visits) or let us show you relevant ads (marketing, including Meta). We only use analytics and marketing cookies if you agree to them in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time from the cookie settings link on the site.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • get a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • have wrong data corrected
  • have your data deleted, unless we must keep it by law
  • restrict or object to how we use it, including at any time to direct marketing
  • receive your data in a machine readable format
  • withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting what we did before

To use your rights, email support@getmeatmate.com or use our privacy request page. We answer within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten, IMY), www.imy.se, or to the data protection authority where you live.

Children

Our shop is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.

Changes

We update this policy when our use of personal data changes. The date below shows the latest version.
